Returns + Exchanges

At The Art River, every product is thoughtfully handcrafted with care and attention to detail. As many of our products are handmade, slight variations in color, print placement, texture, and stitching are natural and make each piece unique.

We want you to love your purchase. If you experience any issues, please review our Returns & Exchanges Policy below.

1. Return Eligibility

We accept returns only under the following circumstances:

• You received a damaged product.
• You received a defective product.
• You received the wrong item.
• The item is significantly different from what was ordered.

To be eligible for a return:

• You must contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order.
• The item must be unused, unwashed, and in its original condition with all tags and packaging intact.
• Proof of purchase and clear photographs or videos of the product and packaging must be provided.

2. Items Not Eligible for Return

For hygiene and quality reasons, we do not accept returns or exchanges for:

• Products that have been used, washed, altered, or damaged after delivery.
• Items returned without original packaging or tags.
• Products purchased during clearance or special sale events (unless damaged or defective).
• Minor variations in color, texture, print placement, or craftsmanship resulting from the handmade nature of our products.
• Orders refused at the time of delivery.

3. Exchange Policy

We offer exchanges only in the following cases:

• You received the wrong item.
• You received a damaged or defective product.

Exchanges are subject to product availability. If the requested item is unavailable, we may offer:

• A replacement with a similar product,
• Store credit, or
• A refund, as applicable.

4. Non-Returnable & Non-Exchangeable Items

The following products cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or incorrect:

• Customized or personalized products
• Gift cards
• Digital products (if applicable)

5. Return Process

To initiate a return or exchange:

1. Email us at hello@theartriver.com within 48 hours of delivery.
2. Include:
   • Your Order Number
   • Full Name
   • Reason for the return or exchange
   • Clear photographs or videos showing the issue
3. Our team will review your request within 2–3 business days.
4. If approved, we will provide return instructions.

Please do not send products back without receiving approval from our team.

6. Refunds

Once the returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the status of your refund.

If approved:

• Refunds will be processed to the original payment method.
• Processing time may take 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, and other fees (if any) are generally non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

7. Return Shipping

If the return is due to our mistake:

• Wrong item shipped
• Damaged product
• Manufacturing defect

The Art River will bear the return shipping costs.

If the return is for any other approved reason:

The customer will be responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise agreed.

8. International Orders

For international orders:

• Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees imposed by their country.
• Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
• Return shipping costs for international orders are generally the customer’s responsibility unless the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect.

9. Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled within 12 hours of placement or before they are dispatched, whichever occurs first.

Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled.

10. Handmade Product Disclaimer

Our products are handcrafted by skilled artisans. Slight variations in color, texture, embroidery, block prints, hand stitching, or fabric patterns are natural characteristics of handmade products and should not be considered defects.

These unique variations are part of the beauty and authenticity of handcrafted craftsmanship.
